FAQs About Telos Counseling
How does online counseling work? Online counseling works the same as any normal session. After your initial appointment is made, you will receive an email with an invitation to do a video conference via the internet.
What training does your staff have? Each of our staff members has either a Master’s or Doctoral degree in counseling or psychology, and is licensed by the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling or the Arkansas Social Work Licensing Board. Some of our staff members also have specialized training in specific areas of need. Please review each counselor's bio for more information about their advanced specialized training.
How long are sessions? An average session lasts 45-60 minutes depending on the agreement with your counselor. A person may come to counseling once or choose to continue regular counseling until they have met their goals. The number and frequency of sessions depends on several factors, including but not limited to: the goals established in therapy, severity of the issues, and the client's willingness to actively participate. This will be determined by you and your counselor.
What is the cost? Our fee per session ranges from $150 - $200 depending on the clinician, licensure, and experience level.
What technology do I need for online counseling? Any wifi enabled device with a camera and microphone, along with a steady internet or cell signal, will do the trick. This means a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer. You should also ensure that you have a private space where you can talk without being overheard or interrupted.
How do I find my telehealth link? 1) Please refer back to your ORIGINAL confirmation email from our practice. 2) The link will be THE SAME FOR EACH APPOINTMENT with that unique provider. 3)Your appointment reminder emails will NOT have the link for the appointment.
How do I schedule an appointment? Current clients may request new appointments, or reschedule/cancel through our secure online client portal found at the top of our Home Page. If you are a new client, you may fill out our contact form under the Schedule Tab.
What if I have to cancel my appointment? There is no charge for any session cancelled with at least 24-hour notice prior to the scheduled appointment. Sessions cancelled with less than 24-hour notice will be assessed a full fee.
Will what I share be kept private? All of your conversations with our staff are completely confidential. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality (except where mandated otherwise by law, as in the case of child and/or elder abuse, or imminent danger to yourself or others).
Insurance? We are Out of Network and do not process insurance claims in our office. However, many insurance policies provide an Out of Network benefit, which means that they will support the cost of our services. I have partnered with Thrizer, a payment application that handles this process automatically for you so you can pay only what you truly owe for our sessions. We will first check to confirm you have out-of-network benefits. If so, I will use Thrizer so that you are only charged your co-payment for the appointment. How it works: I will email you a link to set up your Thrizer account. Set up your Thrizer account by adding your insurance information and connecting a payment method. Review your out-of-network benefits and estimated co-pay to clarify any questions you have. I will charge you via Thrizer for our appointments. You should decide what’s best for your mental healthcare, not your insurance company (who only cares about their bottom line). Above all else, the rapport you have with a counselor AND their qualifications are critical for effective treatment. So please factor that, along with the payment options, into your decision-making when choosing a counselor.
What about safety, security, and privacy? All telehealth sessions provided by The Telos Clinic are provided through encrypted platforms. All platforms used by our practice meet HIPAA compliance standards.
How do I update my billing or contact information? Billing and contact info can be updated within the Client Portal. Please reach out to admin@thetelosclinic.com for additional questions.
